Mobile Data Usage Analytics

Mobidia has collected a comprehensive set of mobile usage data using a completely optional, transparent, and anonymous model for understanding mobile data usage on smartphones and tablets. Our data includes aggregate data usage, specific application usage, and time of day and week usage across mobile, roaming, and Wi-Fi networks. It also includes usage across different device types, mobile OS's, mobile networks, and 50 different countries. Examples of our data can be found in our whitepapers here.

Our device-based collection approach provides a truly unique perspective on mobile subscribers that includes "off network" behavior.  Mobile operators, developers, mobile metrics companies and others can use this data to understand what, how, when, and where data usage occurs. Understanding this usage can help in many ways, including:

  • Develop compelling data plans and tarriffs
  • Develop or assess Wi-Fi off-load marketing and strategies
  • Benchmark usage against competitors or other countries
  • Understand specific application penetration and usage rates
  • Understand usage differences on specific platforms, devices (including tablets) and LTE networks
