Derek Spratt
President & CEO
Derek has been an active CEO, founder, investor, advisor and board member with local BC technology firms for the past 25 years. He has also been a contributor to the technology community via his board level involvement in Acetech - the Academy of technology CEOs, and the Vancouver Enterprise Forum. Derek has a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Queens and started out in his career in 1982, first as a product designer, and later in executive management and leadership positions, most recently as Founder and CEO of Intrinsyc Software International Inc (1996-2006). Other local firms Derek has worked for include: Consequent Technologies (co-founder, CEO), PCS Wireless (co-founder, past-President/EVP), Ernex (Advisor), Nexus Engineering (VP and business unit manager), Motorola (Product Manager), Integra Systems (Designer/Manager), Canysco Systems (Designer) and DBA Telecom (Designer). Additionally, Derek has worked to promote science curriculum to local K-12 students via philanthropic engagements with Science World BC and the Vancouver School Foundation, and also takes a keen interest in protecting the environment via his philanthropic and board level engagement with Eco-Justice Canada. Ms. Fay Arjomandi
CTO
Fay Arjomandi is co-founder and CTO of Mobidia, Inc. Ms. Arjomandi brings more than 10 years of extensive experience in wireless communications technologies with the proven talent and ability to quickly convert technical ideas to marketable products. Fay has an extensive knowledge of wireless networks, applications and protocol development. As CTO, Fay works closely with Research, Engineering and Marketing teams to assure a successful implementation of the technologies into a highly scalable, component architectures lunch fit with the need of market. Prior to co-founding Mobidia, Ms. Arjomandi co-founded L3 Technology, and worked for MDSI's telecommunications division as technology specialist and software developer for Infonet and SoftCom. Ms. Arjomandi holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from Concordia University and completed one year of her M.Sc. at UBC. Ms. Arjomandi was named by the Business In Vancouver publication as one of the 2006 Top 40 under 40 entrepreneurs, managers, executives, and professionals. This very prestigious award selected the winners based on such values as achievement, experience and innovation, vision, leadership, and community involvement. Fay spends her spare time outdoors in Vancouver trying to improve her time climbing the Grouse Grind.
Ms. Arjomandi has recently been invited to participate in the 4th Annual Washington Briefing at the White House.

Dr. S. Sharif
Chief Scientist and
Architect
Dr. Sharif has more than 20 years of senior management
experience in radio frequency design and implementation.
A true visionary in his field, Dr. Sharif is a
renowned expert in Spread Spectrum technology
and Radio Link Protocols. He has extensive knowledge
and experience with applications running over
wireless data networks, and a deep understanding
of the OSI reference model and operating system
designs. He is responsible for setting technology
directions and heading the research team at Mobidia.
Prior to co-founding Mobidia, Dr. Sharif was a
founder of L3 Technology, Inc. and was with Motorola,
AT&T Labs, Ericsson, and MDSI. Dr. Sharif
holds a Ph.D. and Masters of Science in electrical
engineering from Texas A&M University, specializing
in communications.

Allan Larmour, P.Eng
Vice President of Business
Development
Allan is a proven business visionary in the world
of information technology. He has extensive experience
in developing strategic business plans and go-to-market
strategies for large and early stage companies.
He has more than 20 years of experience in the
high tech industry marketing into the Telecom
industry, including Executive Management, VP Sales
& Marketing, Sales and Systems Engineering
positions. Prior to co-founding Mobidia in 2004,
Allan was EVP Sales and Marketing for L3 Technology,
IP Applications Corp., EXL Information Corp.,
and Regional Sales Manager for Data General Corp.
He has won many awards as a top performer at these
companies. Mr. Larmour holds a Bachelor of Science
and a Bachelor of Applied Science, Electrical
Engineering degrees from the University of British
Columbia.

Chris Hill
Vice President of Marketing
Chris has over fifteen years of experience within the information technology and wireless network industries and has held roles in product marketing, business development, and international sales and marketing. Before joining Mobidia, he spent 7 years at Microsoft, leading the product management team and their efforts to build and commercialize the Windows Mobile Platform, Microsoft's first platform for the PDA and smartphone categories. Prior to Microsoft, he lived in Asia for a number of years and helped build a small, privately-held, enterprise-grade IT Software Company into a global division of General Electric. Chris has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Masters of Business Administration degree with an emphasis on marketing from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
